Double diplomatic visit to Luxembourg Air Rescue

Luxembourg Air Rescue had the great pleasure this week of welcoming both His Excellency the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Peter W. Kok, and His Excellency the Ambassador of Belgium, Thomas Antoine, at Findel Airport. The delegations from both embassies wished to learn more about the activities of LAR.

During a tour of the facilities at Luxembourg Airport, the visitors gained insight into the daily work of Luxembourg Air Rescue. The two ambassadors had the opportunity to visit both the aviation and medical equipment and learned how LAR is organised and how it operates.

Following a short presentation of LAR’s activities in Luxembourg and around the world, the ambassadors, showing great interest, spoke directly with the operations and emergency call centre staff in order to better understand the challenges they face 365 days a year.

Impressed by the work of LAR, the two ambassadors also highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation between rescue services, particularly within the Benelux countries. “I was not aware of the extent of your capabilities,” concluded His Excellency the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Peter W. Kok, at the end of the visit. His Excellency the Ambassador of Belgium, Thomas Antoine, described the information received – true to aviation terminology – as very “uplifting”.
