Together for a good cause – how an idea became reality
At first, there was only a simple idea: to reconnect with old friends. This idea inspired Michel Karier and Pascal Schenk to create the Facebook group “Disco Moonlight Michelau”. However, within just a few days, more than 300 people had already joined, and it quickly became clear that a reunion of former visitors of the “The Moonlight Michelau” nightclub should be organised.
The idea soon became reality and, after six months of planning, a revival party was finally held. The event was a great success and the proceeds far exceeded expectations. The organisers therefore decided to donate the collected funds to charitable causes.
After a short consultation among the members of the Facebook group, it was decided that €1,750 each would be donated to the organisation “Stëmm vun der Strooss” and to the “Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue”.
Last Monday, the founders of the revival party, Michel Karier and Pascal Schenk, together with their helpers Luc Heischbourg and Steve Schaus, visited Luxembourg Air Rescue. The generous donors learned more about the life-saving work carried out by LAR.
During discussions with LAR staff members, they gained insight into the organisation’s daily work and learned that every donation is invested directly in medical equipment. Each contribution therefore helps ensure the continued operation of air rescue services in Luxembourg.
