Presentation of new equipment for LAR helicopters financially supported by the Vodafone Foundation
Luxembourg, May 28th 2014
To enable the rescue helicopters of Luxembourg Air Rescue also to execute rescue missions during night, Luxembourg Air Rescue has decided to equip one rescue helicopter with a new searchlight, called Trakkabeam A800. By means of this new technology, night landings to unlit landing places can be executed safely. Additionally, LAR will be enabled to execute search and rescue missions for missed persons during the night. The Trakkabeam?s unique optical design utilizes a Xenon lamp half of the size of traditional searchlights to deliver a more intense and consistent beam on the target. The lightweight system weighs only 18 kg and meets perfectly the needs of small rescue helicopters due to its small dimensions.
