LAR – a strong brand that makes an impact

Ahead of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of Luxembourg Air Rescue, a study was commissioned from the opinion research institute TNS-Ilres to assess the image and awareness of Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR).

The result clearly shows that LAR is a strong Luxembourg brand that has a real impact.

The scientific survey conducted by TNS ILRES was carried out in April and May among 1,117 Luxembourgers aged 18 and over and is fully representative at national level.

The interviews were conducted by telephone.

One figure stands out immediately: 98 percent of Luxembourgers are familiar with the Luxembourg air rescue service.

Across all age groups, professions and regions, LAR enjoys a high level of recognition.

Three percent of respondents stated that they had personally used LAR’s assistance.

Sixteen percent said that a member of their family had been helped by LAR.

In conclusion, 19 percent of Luxembourgers have had direct contact with LAR so far.

When it comes to LAR’s services, Luxembourgers are mainly aware of emergency assistance in Luxembourg by rescue helicopter.

Fifty-five percent of respondents first mentioned emergency air assistance in accident or emergency situations when asked about the tasks of LAR.

The repatriation of sick or injured patients is the second best-known activity of LAR (22 percent first mentions).

Eighty-seven percent of Luxembourgers have so far heard only positive feedback about LAR.

The brand is therefore clearly perceived in a positive way.

According to the survey, only six percent reported having heard critical opinions.
