Celebrations: René Closter
Luxembourg Air Rescue, the largest non-profit association in Luxembourg (185,000 members), celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013.
Under its chairman René Closter (pictured), it has transformed itself into a genuine public utility service, carrying out around 3,000 air rescue missions per year and ranking among the world leaders in this field.
Since the beginning of the year, in cooperation with a local partner, the organisation has also ensured the exclusive transport of organs for 19 of the 21 transplant centres in France.
The construction of new premises at Findel is one of the association’s major ongoing projects.
