Training objective

The TECC training (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) aims to provide pre-hospital responders with the necessary skills to handle casualties in a tactical situation, in high-risk civilian environments.

It is based on the recommendations of the Co-TECC committee and draws on military feedback adapted to the civilian context.

Duration

16 hours spread over 2 days (2 x 8h).
Recycling:
every 4 years to maintain certification.

Educational content

The program covers the three phases of tactical care:

Care under direct threat: care provided in the event of an attack or in a hostile environment
Care under indirect threat: care when the threat is temporarily neutralized
Care in the evacuation area: care during the extraction of the injured person.
Topics covered:
Control of bleeding (installation of tourbillons, compressive dressings)
Airway control and chest decompression
MARCH evaluation
Taking care of the injured in threatening environments
Porting and extraction techniques to a secure area
Care for injured children

Pedagogical methods

Theory/practice alternation
Realistic indoor/outdoor scenarios inspired by real situations
Use of simulation equipment

Assessment & Certification

Participants are evaluated on an ongoing basis during the training. A final test is organized, comprising:

MCQ of 50 questions
Practical case of support
Issuance of an official NAEMT certificate
Valid 4 years
Recycling every 4 years, mandatory to extend the validity
