Training objective

The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) BLS training course aims to teach essential basic life support skills, including recognising cardiac arrest, performing effective chest compressions, ventilation and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).

It forms the basis of all cardiopulmonary resuscitation care.

Educational content

The training combines theory and practice with interactive workshops. The topics covered are:

Recognition of cardiac arrest
Performing chest compressions and ventilation
Safe use of the AED
Recovery position
Caring for a choking victim

Pedagogical methods

Role-playing exercises
Simulation-based learning

Assessment & Certification

Participants are continuously assessed throughout the training. A final test is organized, which includes:

Formative (continuous) assessment
Issuance of an official ERC – BLS Provider certificate
Valid for 3 years (renewable)
